The Center for Athletic Development (CAD) is responsible for the promotion, development, and implementation of the sports program of the University of Makati by providing administrative directions in all its intercollegiate athletic activities which include recruitment, training, and holistic formation of student-athletes.

To realize the vision, ADC will develop a structured and organized program that will make the University of Makati the leading local educational institution in sports while enabling its student-athletes to reach their full potential and prepare them for lifelong success within an athletic organization that promotes well-rounded education through planned sports and competitions developing their skills, discipline, integrity, leadership, and social responsibility thus, making the athletic program a lasting source of pride for the University and the the city of Makati.

About Director
Director Dominador Lera is a student-athlete scholar at the Philippine Normal University, where he received his Bachelor of Secondary Education with a Major in Physical Education. He eventually went on to get a Master’s degree in Physical Education and Sports from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. He is currently pursuing his Executive Doctorate in Leadership with a major in Educational Management at the University of Makati, where he also taught Physical Education from 1999 to 2009. He also formed the UMAk Arnis Team as a coach and trainer at the time, producing several national athletes. The peak of his coaching career came in 2005, when he served the country as coach of the National Arnis Team at the 23rd South East Asia Games through the Philippine Sports Commission. In 2010, he was selected to run the newly formed Athletic Development Center, which was developed to particularly handle the welfare of student-athletes. His sports development program design helped the University of Makati become the premier local educational institution in sports, making the athletic program a permanent source of pride for the University and the City of Makati.
